Five Loaves Ministry partners with the Charlotte community to provide nourishing meals and spiritual care to those experiencing homelessness. We are inspired by the miracle of the loaves and fishes and by Christ’s call to reflect God’s provision, dignity, and grace for all.
Our Vision
A Charlotte where no neighbor goes hungry — where every person is met with dignity, nourishment, and the transforming love of Jesus Christ. We aspire to be a beacon of hope, mobilizing the local faith community to eradicate hunger and restore wholeness, one meal and one life at a time.
Our Passion
Behind every plate is a person made in the image of God. We are driven by love for the men and women sleeping outside tonight, and by the conviction that faith is proven in action. We want to be at the table with them, not just across it.
Our Promise
Every meal is served with honor, prayer when welcome, and a real conversation. Every gift entrusted to us is stewarded faithfully and transparently.
Faith in action, every week.
Five Loaves is built on the simple idea that a small offering, placed in God’s hands and shared generously, can feed many.
- Weekly hot meals. We serve meals in Charlotte as an act of worship, reflecting Christ’s command to feed the hungry and love our neighbors as ourselves.
- Hope of the Gospel. Prayer, encouragement, and personal connection are offered alongside every meal.
- Dignity for every person. We honor the image of God present in each person we encounter.
- Connection to care. We link neighbors to local shelters, social services, and faith communities, walking alongside them toward wholeness and restoration.
- Mobilizing the church. We equip and inspire volunteers from Charlotte-area congregations to live out their faith in tangible service.
- Faithful stewardship. We steward resources with transparency and gratitude so every gift honors God and serves those in need.

A new ministry, built on a solid foundation.
Five Loaves Ministry, Inc. was incorporated as a North Carolina nonprofit in June 2026 and is recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3), effective June 2, 2026. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and operate under written bylaws and a conflict of interest policy. Directors and officers serve without compensation, and our funds are held in dedicated accounts at Truist Bank.
Our Story
Five Loaves Ministry was born out of the GMEN eGroup at the University City Campus of Elevation Church, led by Campus Pastor, Chetwin Pete. GMEN is a men’s ministry, small-group and fellowship network within the church community, focused on spiritual growth, accountability, and brotherhood among men and eGroup participants.
From that fellowship grew a mission to feed and care for our homeless citizens who are struggling for access to warm meals, and who may also be searching for the light and presence of God in their lives. We believe our calling is “to raise people far from God to life in Christ.”
